Answers to your questions, like "What is a forum?"

If you have no idea what an internet forum is, this is the thread for you! First of all, a thread is each one of these topics (like this one called What is a Forum?) posted under a sub-forum. There are 3 sub-forums on this site: General Discussion,  Meetings and Events, and Midwifery in the News.

Registering and Loggin In
You have to register in order to post on the forum. Posting is adding your own comment to any thread, or starting a new thread of your own. To register, click anywhere that says Register, fill in some brief information, and you're done. To Log In after registering, click anywhere that says Log In, including the very top of the page, in the grey area that displays today's date.

Starting a New Thread
Anyone who's registered and logged in can start a new thread in any sub-forum, except The Coopers forum (only Bryan and I can start new threads there). Start a thread by clicking the New Thread button within a sub-forum. You can start a thread about anything you'd like to discuss with the group... a new research paper or news article on midwifery, a birth story you'd like to share, sharing minutes on a recent meeting. You can even start a thread to share pictures: host your pictures somewhere like photobucket.com, then put those images in your thread.

Replying to a Thread
Anyone who's registered and logged in can reply to a thread. Click the green Reply button located at the top of a post in the thread you want to reply to. In your reply, you can offer your advice or opinion on the thread topic.

If you have any more questions about anything, please post them here.
